Zapping Autonews Green Electric cars: the novelties of the year 2022
In the United States, manufacturers are taking advantage of the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance to unveil concept car after concept car. After Acura with the Precision EV Concept, it’s Lincoln’s turn to unveil a style study that imagines its future. Called Lincoln Model L100 Concept, this electric vehicle still keeps an eye in the rearview mirror.
The Lincoln Model L100 Concept pays homage to the Lincoln Model L, the brand’s first luxury car marketed in 1922. Ford’s high-end branch. The concept car takes the form of a long coupé with an aerodynamic design, capable of being transformed in order to accommodate occupants on board its cabin.

Glued to the road, the Lincoln Model L100 Concept is partly transparent, from its bow to its stern. This huge glass roof gives a glimpse of the interior of the concept car. At the front, it is surrounded by an LED light signature. The brand logo is also illuminated on the bumper. For the rest, the concept car is perched on huge backlit rims, and has no doors.

There are no doors, because it is simply the roof that opens when boarding. The sides of the Lincoln Model L100 Concept also open antagonistically for easy boarding. Inside, there is no steering wheel or real dashboard. Two rows of seats are present to accommodate passengers in this real 100% autonomous rolling lounge. The first can even be folded down in order to have only one rear seat. On the central console, a chessboard is present and a controller cut like a jewel makes it possible to control the pieces.

Created as an immersive experience, the interior of the Lincoln Model L100 Concept includes a “digital floor” on which images can be displayed. Ambient lighting can also vary. The upholstery is made of vegan fabric, while the exterior bodywork is painted with metallic paint and frosted acrylic.

Finally, on the technical side, this concept car uses a “new generation of battery” described as more efficient. It’s this new kind of battery that allows Lincoln to offer such a spacious interior. However, the manufacturer is careful not to communicate the technical specificities of its Model L100 Concept, while the machine must be presented to the public during the Pebble Beach 2022 elegance contest.
