Arrival’s new electric van caught in spy photos in Germany

More sustainable mobility will be imposed in 2035 with the transformation of the combustion mobile fleet into electric ones. The transport sector is also committed to this modality, and one of the great proofs are these curious spy photos of the future UPS electric van. The express courier company bets on the exclusive Arrival Automotive model.

A little over a year and a half ago we gave you the first keys to a new electric urgent parcel delivery van, developed by those at Arrival Automotive. A very futuristic model but with a great capacity with very special qualities and characteristics, with the most advanced sustainability by flag. For now known as Arrival Vanthis is the first time that it is seen in spy photosand on a secret test track in Germany.

A model that joins the increasingly important market for electric vans, conceived from a blank sheet of paper, and that will be manufactured in the UK, from 2023, so there are only a few months left for its set-up to be completed and to start serving. The Arrival model presents a very modern and aerodynamic at the front, with perfectly integrated LED headlights at the front, and with the wiper at the top to offer the best forward visibility.

The special model takes on a design typical of parcel delivery vans in the United States, with a large vertical blind at the back, and a very low access threshold to the interior, which will maintain independence with the cabin. The interesting images reveal an interior in diapers, without trim on the pillars and interior uprights of the -sliding- aluminum doors, while the body is made of composite materials. The snapshots reveal its right-hand drive and a large screen in the center console.

But also a special detail: and it is that, although it has conventional rear-view mirrors, it also has some small cameras above the front doors, facilitating maneuvering in the narrowest routes. The start-up responsible for the production of this model has already revealed that different combinations will be offered, with variants of greater or lesser height and a maximum authorized load of up to 3.5 tons. Among its customers, LeasePlan has already placed an order and UPS’s have reserved no less than 10,000 units.

Arrival has confirmed that its production will start later this year, equipped with an electric motor on the rear axle that will provide a maximum power of 200 hppowered by a battery that occupies the distance between axes, with capacities of 67, 89, 111 and 133 kWh. Some figures that will allow you to face journeys 180 to 340 kilometers on a single charge. The perfect option to revolutionize the market for electric delivery vans.
