Synchromie Creative Production Studio (SYNCHROMIES) has created together with the team of Bonelli the logo and logo animation of Bonelli Entertainment, audiovisual production reality of Sergio Bonelli Editore which intends to bring the heroes of his comics to the cinema, on TV and on streaming platforms.
The logo animation made its debut at the latest edition of Lucca Comics & Games, where fans of the Bonelli world were able to attend the world premieres of the film Dampyr and the animated series Dragonero. I Paladini, the first two creations of Bonelli Entertainment.
A logo animation created to enhance, preserve and ferry Sergio Bonelli Editore’s comic heritage into the future in the most respectful way of its tradition, spanning more than 80 years. The challenge was to keep the spirit of the characters intact, narrating their narrative complexities through the settings and scenarios in which they are the protagonists.
“It was an honor to be able to take part in this important project and accompany Sergio Bonelli Editore towards the audiovisual world: the logo animation will introduce important cinematographic and television productions and we at Sincromie felt the responsibility of creating a business card so full of meanings”, comments Alessandro Di Bella, Executive Producer Sincromie in the note.
“For us at Bonelli Entertainment this ident represented a real audiovisual production. In over 14 months of production we have worked side by side with the team led by Alessandro Di Bella, Antonio Soraci and Caterina Mittiga, to find the right technical and artistic solutions that could tell our project: transferring the tradition of the great adventure of Bonelli comics on other media. From the storyboard to the graphics, from the concept to the final editing, without ever neglecting the sound and music sector, we have worked aiming for the highest quality result, driven by the passion for the comics we love. The choice of the Sincromie team was a winning one: we found in them great professionals but also absolute lovers of Bonelli comics. Without Sincromie our identity would not have been the same”, adds Vincenzo Sarno, Executive Producer Bonelli Entertainment.
The work of the professionals harmonized throughout the entire production, leading to the creation of a team made up of illustrators from the Bonelli team, such as Luca Malisan; 2D and 3D artists; and modellers who created and perfected the project.
“The strength of Sincromie, whose claim is Artigiani Digitali, is precisely that of being able to carry out projects of this size and complexity, with different techniques capable of giving life to extraordinary results”, explains Caterina Mittiga, Sincromie Project Leader who dwells on the modus operandi of this project: “We worked closely, immediately combining analog and digital: illustrators and inkers created all the tables manually which were subsequently implemented in 3D and optimized with modeling techniques, lighting and paper texturing which have given the production ever greater dynamism and epicity.”
Antonio Soraci, director and Creative Director concludes: “Following the creativity of the Bonelli Entertainment team, we wanted the impossible, that is to represent the incredible journey, from printed paper to the screen, of a galloping horse that crosses the worlds of the protagonists of the comics of the Publisher: riding our steed we went from dusty and arid western settings to futuristic worlds, passing through the Amazon reconstructed in comics, between horror and dystopian adventures. The directorial choices were the result of a reflection, shared with the Bonelli team, on what was the best method to be able to involve the viewer in this narrative path: the choice of using the sequence shot was fundamental to give the images a continuity vision capable of carrying us on this journey. In those 35 “we put our soul, heart and all our commitment”.
The soundtrack was composed specifically for this project with the aim of underlining the character of this passage.
