Crazy Bob fever continues to grow in Friuli Venezia Giulia. Everything is ready in Tarvisio, in Val Canale, for the two days of fun and goliardic competition between bobsleds and self-built sledgesthe craziest winter event that celebrates ingenuity, imagination and the spirit of healthy fun, ready to exceptionally return for the second consecutive year on 18 and 19 March 2023.

Once again it will be i Campi Duca d’Aosta to host the race course and to welcome the teams and their fans. They will be 25 teams registered – from all over Friuli Venezia Giulia, Veneto and Slovenia – for over a hundred participants. Will be hunt to compete for the Crazy Bob trophy scheduled for the morning of Sunday 19 March, starting at 10on the slopes of the Tarvisio area, covered with snow perfectly by the Promoturismo Fvg technicians despite the increase in temperatures and the lack of rainfall in recent weeks.
Creativity, ingenuity, braking systems, humor and harmony they will be the ingredients of the competition and already from the first advances on the vehicles built by the various teams in recent months an unmissable show for quality, creative skill and variety of proposals is expected. Throughout the day on Sunday there will be spaces for gastronomic tasting, entertainment and music to make Crazy Bob truly a people’s party.
Saturday the Crazy Color Race.
But the party will begin on Saturday 18 March, with the first collateral event, the second edition of the “Crazy Color Race”, a “coloured” walk of about 2 kilometres, always starting from the Duca d’Aosta area and arriving in the center of Tarvisio in piazza Unità d’Italia, crossing the golf courses. Initiative dedicated to families and not only with various moments of animation thanks to the collaboration of the Tarvisian merchants and traders.
I’m over 180 members and for them there will be a city center that is off-limits to cars, thanks to the supervision of the Local Police and Civil Protection volunteers who will preside over the event to guarantee the safety of the participants.
What is Crazy Bob.
In the eleven editions of Crazy Bob, it was possible to admire everything: from vairships to submarines, from tanks to pyramids, passing through bathtubs, dinghies, real mobile bars, dance floors, airplanes; all vehicles equipped with sliding and braking systems such as to guarantee maximum safety for the participants and fans who crowd the circuit.
It is one of the longest-running, futuristic and captivating events in Friuli Venezia Giulia. A goliardic challenge between bobsleigh and self-built sledges in which the one who best sharpens wit, humour, collaborative spirit and desire for healthy fun wins.
It all started from a happy intuition of the operator from Tolmezzo Attilio Quaglia and a group of friends who at the beginning of the 2000s launched an imaginative competition from the snow of the Zoncolantransformed in a short time into an extremely successful event, succeeding in its past editions in attracting tens of thousands of spectators to the Carnic snows, obtaining among other things an incredible media visibility at national and international level.
In March 2022, during the last edition, 29 teams took part, over 150 competitors for an estimated public attendance of thousands of people over the three days hosted in Tarvisio. The Wallabies of Cernieu di Nimis were the winners of the trophy, staging the historic TV series of Hazzard – with Bo and Luke Dukes on board the General Lee, Boss Hogg and Ross Coltrane, cousin Daisy and uncle Jesse. During the race, real works of avant-garde ingenuity were seen, from anti-covid syringes to the strobe lights of discos, from traveling coffins to dinosaurs on skis, passing through pedal boats, ambulances, trains, kiosks, reproductions of cartoons.
