And indeed the minimal character of this electric car – equipped with two rear brushless motors – seems to be inspired by the glorious icon from beyond the Alpsalthough the old-fashioned off-road look makes one think more of other means: an old Jeep Wrangler, a Suzuki Jimny, if not a Mini Moke, the closest in size.

Small size. That’s right: we are talking about a bonsai car, 2.82 meters long, 1.49 wide and 1.46 high, with a wheelbase of 2.1 meters. On the other hand, its tires (130/90) with 18 ”rims are not small, giving it a gritty look, between that of an old off-road vehicle and that of small American hot rods. Likewise, the volume of the body behind the driver and passenger is surprising: 650 liters, according to what the creators of the vehicle declare. But with its aluminum floor and many sacrifices, the (declared) weight is only 283 kg.

A quadricycle. After all, the one proposed by KG Auto, a French startup, is actually a microcar in the homologation phase, which will be produced on the other side of the Alps by Groupe Savoy. Declined in the light and heavy quadricycle versions (the top speed cannot exceed, respectively, 45 and 80 km / h) and with ranges from 70 to 140 km, it is offered in France with prices starting from 10,900 euros, which go down to 9,900 euros with local incentives. The first deliveries, barring unforeseen circumstances, are scheduled for 2023.
