Hyundai, Genesis and Kia, the three car brands of Hyundai Motor Grouphave won eight design awards, including two “Best of the Best” and you are “Winner”at the “Red Dot Award: Brand & Communication Design 2022”, hosted by the German Design Zentrum Nordrhein-Westfalen.
The “CES 2022 Exhibition Booth” of Hyundai, which shared the company’s vision for robotics providing unlimited freedom of mobility in the real world and metaverse, won the award “Best of the Best” – the highest award that the jury can award – in the Fair Stands category.
Awarded categories include Exhibition Stands, Brand Stores, Showrooms, Exhibition Design, User Interface and Corporate Design Guides
At CES 2022, Hyundai has revealed its new concept of “Metamobility”, with the aim of paving the way for the use of robotics both in the real world and in the metaverse, starting from a Mobility of Things (MoT) ecosystem based on robotics, and has allowed visitors to “experience” it at its stand. Hyundai also revealed its modular Plug & Drive (PnD) and Drive & Lift (DnL) platforms as all-in-one solutions for its MoT ecosystem, Boston Dynamics’ quadruped Spot® robot and the Atlas TM bipedal humanoid robot.
In addition, the Red Dot Award awarded to Hyundai a premium “Winner” por Hyundai Motor Songpa showrooms, in the Brand Stores category. The showroom offers a new space and a brand experience based on Hyundai’s concierge service. Stainless steel mesh nets and 2,100 mounting clips inside and outside the building symbolize Hyundai’s strong commitment to the entire automobile manufacturing and sales process.
For the luxury brand Genesis, Genesis Suji, Genesis Studio Anseong and Genesis House New York have reeach received a Red Dot Award for Retail Design e an art installation inspired by the GV60 electric vehicle won for Spatial Communication. Furthermore, Genesis Connected Car Integrated Cockpit (ccIC) won for its User Interface. These wins reflect how Genesis visually expresses its brand identity across its spaces and customer experiences.
The Best of the Best
In particular, Genesis Suji took the award home “Best of the Best” in the Brand Stores category. Genesis Suji redefines the Korean automotive customer experience. The four-story, 4,991-square-foot facility simultaneously serves as an automotive showcase, service delivery platform, and test drive center. It is the first space of its kind in Korea, combining a presentation space with a service program.
In stark contrast to the bright white environment of the mall, theor showroom of 663 square meters by Genesis Studio Anseong boldly frames the brand’s latest cars in a futuristic vision of design / sound / light, inviting customers to experience the highly advanced models firsthand.
Genesis House New York
Described as a sophisticated oasis in the heart of the cityGenesis House New York it’s a sanctuary fascinating. There is a lot to explore, from art installations to a modern take on traditional Korean cuisine, along with the sensational view. Visitors can even take part in a typical Korean tea ceremony while enjoying the panoramic views of the Hudson River and the High Line park.
Genesis has created a GV60 campaign with the concept centered on the Crystal Sphere, one of the key features of the model. The campaign included an art installation consisting of 400x400x80 modules, made with a two-sided dichroic film that gave iridescent reflections and the impression of changing spaces.
The awards related to the design of the spacesor mentioned above are the result of the collaboration between Genesis and the architectural firm Suh Architects of Seoul, with whom he worked closely to convey the brand’s philosophy in the cultural context. By creating the Genesis brand identity in the different city environments, the brand was able to convey messages consistent with the uniqueness of the territory.
Furthermore, the Genesis ccIC (Connected Car Integrated Cockpit) connects the cluster, infotainment system and head-up display into one panoramic display, creating a high-tech look and exceptional usability. The world’s first integrated cockpit controller offers a new user experience to customers by organically circulating and linking the contents of each system in the infotainment system.
In the end, Kia Corporation was awarded the title “Winner” for his Corporate Design Guides. “Kia Corporate Identity Guideline” is a design manual for consistently communicating corporate identity to global customers in line with the company’s new brand direction and strategy. This ingenious guide describes the design elements of the brand, such as the logo, slogan and typeface.
