The Chinese manufacturer DJI recently announced Mavic 3 Classic and even earlier Mavic 3 Enterprise. However, these are not the only innovations that the company has had the opportunity to present over the last few months (despite the difficulties associated with “blacklist” of the Pentagon). In fact, it was inaugurated at the beginning of October the new headquarters to Shenzhen call Sky City and consists of two large buildings that have revolutionized it skylines of the Chinese city thanks to their unusual and decidedly futuristic shapes.
In recent days, the manufacturer has released a official video presentation of the new headquarters (first shown only in images) which highlights the innovations intended both to improve the productivity of the company itself and to better integrate with the urban and social context of Shenzhen (considering that inside the buildings there are also structures with public access). Here is what you can see.
DJI shows a video of its new headquarters in Shenzhen
The video lasting just over two minutes was filmed using a drone unspecified (according to DPReview it could be theFPV Avata, but it is not confirmed). In the first few seconds, the user can fly -virtually- in the direction of the two large skyscrapers they form Sky City. All around there are gardens and greenery seems to be quite present considering that it is a city of almost 13 million inhabitants.
The distant view provided by the DJI drone highlights the structure designed by the architects’ studio Foster + Partners (who also designed the new Apple headquarters). Instead of being two parallelepipeds with shapes “rigid” the volumes are broken up to recall the clouds while a suspension bridge (visible in the video) joins the two units. The drone then it turns towards the entrance made with a glass structure that highlights the internal Zen garden.
After passing the checks, you take the elevator up to the twentieth floor. Here you then enter an auditorium where you can admire the high ceiling and large windows. A brief overview of the offices, with the various meeting rooms, where the employees are located DJI, and the inevitable relaxation rooms for coffee breaks. You then exit onto a covered balcony full of vegetation that allows you to admire Shenzhen from above.
One of the most interesting parts concerns a large covered room that allows engineers to test the new models in spaces with few obstacles. We then pass over the open suspension bridge (which also connects two pools of water) and then take a last look at the skyscrapers up to 200 meters high and with 40 and 44 floors.
