The Chinese manufacturer surprised with the CFMoto 800 NK, a naked roadster concept, with an original and aggressive look. Named NK-C22, the one that foreshadowed the brand’s next sports roadster had everything to please, on paper. The result is that the stock version looks exactly the same…
but it’s less sexy.
CFMoto 800 NK: features, design, engines, price and output
Design
Unsurprisingly, the future CFMoto 800 NK drops many of the more attractive elements seen on the NK-C22 concept. From the first pictures of the production version, the sporty roadster confirms its original and gritty stylecharacterized by its short silhouette, futuristic looking fork crown, scoops and small front fender.
On the other hand, due to homologation and costs, the 800 NK is a little less equipped.
As a reminder, the concept had an aluminum rear swingarm, a flanged cast wheel and a high-position dual-outlet SC Project muffler. For the production model, it will be a classic double swingarm, slatted wheels and a stock exhaust (but always in the high position, luckily!).
If you add to this the mirrors and the license plate holder in the lowered position, the 800 NK is less remarkable. However, the bike stands out from the competition (Kawasaki Z800, Yamaha MT-07, Honda CB750 Hornet) due to its visual signature and relatively clean rear bodywork. The announced colors give the bike two personalities: a sober and “sport-chic” look for the black model, and a more “techno” style for the blue and gray model, whose two-tone livery emphasizes the angular shapes of the tank and the of finishing.
Engines
Under this signature style, the CFMoto 800 NK will be propelled by a 799cc parallel twin engine which we know well, as this is the KTM 790 Duke’s LC8c block. Now Euro5 and fully assembled by CFMoto, develop 99 HP. For Europewill actually be of 95 HP, so that the motorcycle can be limited to 47.5 HP (35 kW) in accordance with A2 regulations. The 800 NK is a very modern sports roadster and will be equipped with different driving modesride-by-wire throttle, traction control, ABS braking and quickshifter for uphill and downhill riding (standard?).
No further details on suspension, tires and final calipers have been released to date. However, we know the final weight: 186 kg. A commendable effort, given that Chinese bikes are known for their heavy weight compared to Japanese and European bikes. Waiting for the marketing of the 800 NK, which should take place at mid 2023we hope that the price is competitive enough and that the bikes are available quickly in our countries to represent a serious alternative to the already established competitors.
